Éric is a friend of mine and fellow Montrealer living and working here in Shanghai. So I was more than happy to help him out to get some photos of his food and interiors for his new venture: Café Transat.
They say food photography is the most difficult there is. A balance of natural and studio lighting, a fight with time as the food has a very short lifespan on the table once it’s beneath the studio lights and a challenge with composition with all the shapes, colours and textures.
